Biographical Information |
|||
| The Hurlbut family (variously Hurlbut, Hurlbutt, Hurlburt, Hurlbert, etc.) figured prominently in colonial times, beginning with the arrival of Thomas Hurlbut among the earliest colonists. The Hurlbut name appears repeatedly in the history of Connecticut, and later New York, from around 1620 through 1850. Nathaniel Hurlbut married Sarah Jenner, daughter of Samuel and Hannah (Hinman) Jenner on October 19, 1708 in Woodbury, CT. It is probable that Ruth was descended from Nathaniel or one of his brothers. | |||
